I became a leader with Happy Crew and am now sharing what they had taught me and gave me, and so many others a safe space. With new members coming every Monday night and getting to share my story and the lessons I have learned is so amazing. We have been having summer meetings, and one of them was a barbecue, at which a few people who were completely new attended. Happy Crew has taught me not to be as negative and to be welcoming to everyone. Being able to join the Happy Crew Board is a chance to increase my involvement, inspire new members, and continue building a community where all students feel safe and valued. I want to help shape future activities and create an environment in the coffee shop that supports the motto of Happy Crew. Also, being a part of the Board will let me mentor others, learn from other leaders in the community, and further my journey as someone who believes in the power of what Happy Crew has become.
